How we help

Support for the way your child talks, plays and learns

Every child is different. We work out what is getting in the way, then build a play-based plan you can use at home. Sessions run at your place, at the clinic or online. We also help children with feeding and fussy eating. Here are the areas we work with most.

  • Speech delay

Your toddler is slow to start talking, or is using only a handful of words.

  • Speech sounds

People find your child hard to understand. Includes apraxia and unclear or missing sounds.

  • Language & understanding

Your child struggles to follow instructions or build sentences, including DLD.

  • Stuttering & fluency

Your child repeats sounds, stretches words out, or gets stuck when they start talking.

  • Reading & spelling

Reading, spelling or letter sounds are harder than expected, including dyslexia support.

  • Social communication

Conversation, play and social skills, including support for autistic children and teens.

  • Group programs

Small group sessions that run alongside individual therapy, including rhyme groups.

Mobile, clinic & telehealth

Three ways to see your speech pathologist

Speech therapy should fit around your week, not the other way round. We can come to you, you can come to us, or we can meet online. Pick what suits your family, and change it whenever you need to.

    Mobile visits

    We come to you

We bring speech therapy to your door. Sessions can run at home, at daycare, at kindy or at school. Your child works somewhere they already feel safe, so they talk more freely. Teachers and educators can sit in and pick up the same strategies.

    Ashgrove clinic

    Visit our clinic

Our rooms on Waterworks Road are bright and full of toys, books and games. Children settle in quickly and get straight to playing. The clinic is the easiest place for group programs and for sessions that need our full kit of resources.

  • A parent and her young child smiling at a laptop during a video session at home

    Telehealth

    See us online

Some weeks it is easier to stay home. Telehealth sessions run over video, and you sit with your child while we work. You watch what we do and hear why we do it, so you can practise the same thing later in the week.

Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions

Still have a question? Call 0417 190 929 and we will help you work it out.

Do I need a referral to see a speech pathologist?

You can book with us directly. A referral and a care plan from your GP are needed if you want to claim a Medicare rebate.

What ages do you work with?

We see children from birth to 15 years. Most of our work is with children aged 2 to 10.

Do you offer speech assessments?

Yes. Most children start with an assessment, so we can see how they are talking and what is getting in the way. It runs for 60 minutes and it is play-based. Bring any reports from your GP, paediatrician, kindy or school if you have them. We explain what we found in plain language, then set goals with you.

Do you offer Medicare and NDIS?

Yes. We see private clients, Medicare clients with a GP care plan, and NDIS clients on self managed and plan managed plans. Rebate amounts and eligibility are set by Medicare and can change, so please confirm the current amounts with your GP.

Do you visit homes, daycares or schools?

Yes. We visit homes, daycares, kindys and schools near you. Your child has their session in a place they already know, which often helps them talk more freely.

What happens in a mobile visit?

We bring the games, books and resources with us. The session runs the same way it would at the clinic. If we are at daycare, kindy or school, staff can sit in and use the same strategies during the week.

Do you offer telehealth speech therapy?

Yes. Telehealth sessions run over video, so your child can have therapy at home. You sit with them and join in, which means you learn the strategies too. All you need is a device with a camera, a quiet spot and a steady internet connection.

How much do sessions cost?

Fees vary by service and session length. Some appointments cost more, including sessions with our senior clinicians and Saturday appointments. Get in touch and we will tell you the exact fee, along with any Medicare or NDIS options that may apply.
